MovieBuds lets you watch videos at the same time as your friends and talk while you do it. This page explains everything the app records, why it records it, and how to have it removed.
MovieBuds has no sign-up, no password and no email address. We never ask who you are. The nickname you type when you enter a room is the only name we hold, and you can put anything you like there.

When you switch the microphone on, your voice travels directly to the other people in the room, encrypted. It is never written down or stored anywhere, by us or by anyone else. When the call ends it is gone.
Because the internet does not always allow a direct connection, your voice may pass through a relay server to reach your friend. The relay cannot listen to it and keeps no copy.
If you choose to play a film from Google Drive, MovieBuds asks Google for permission to see your files so it can list your videos, and switches on link sharing for the one film you pick so your friends can watch it. We do not read, copy, download or store your files, and we do not touch anything you have not picked. You can sign out at any time, and you can turn the sharing back off in Google Drive whenever you like.
MovieBuds shows adverts supplied by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect a device advertising identifier, rough location and information about how you use apps in order to choose which advert to show you. This is standard for free apps and it is what pays for MovieBuds.
You can limit this on your phone under Settings → Google → Ads, where you can reset or delete your advertising identifier and turn off personalised advertising. Google explains what it collects at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
We do not sell your data. We do not pass it to anybody else. There is nothing in it that identifies you by name.
MovieBuds is for people aged 18 and over. It contains a web browser that can reach any website, and chat and voice that nobody moderates. It is not designed for children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has used the app, write to us and we will remove whatever we hold.

We will delete everything held for your phone within 30 days. You do not have to give a reason. Uninstalling the app on its own does not delete anything, because we have no way to tell that you have uninstalled it.
Everything travels over an encrypted connection, and voice chat is encrypted between the people talking. No system is perfect, but we hold so little that there is very little to lose.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Significant changes will be announced inside the app.
